Thought I'd start a journal too just to give it a try.

I'm 22
I love anime though I'm not really that knowledgeable about it so I wouldn't call myself an Otaku yet (I'm trying to get there though). I also love video games I really do see them as a brilliant art form.
I play guitar, ukulele, bouzouki, liuqin, mandolin, bawu, blues harp and tampura
I'm studying film-making here in Wales at Uni, I love making AMVs but I'm not very good at it yet I still need some more practise with the editing software (also the copyright I have to deal with on youtube means a lot of the AMVs I make can't be put up)
Uhh I think that's it. I'll use this journal to talk about the anime that I'll be watching, maybe video games and other random stuff too I'll just have to see as time goes on

Thinking of making a samurai film, im gonna use bathrobes for japanese clothing, samurai umbrellas for swords and maybe add some bandanas somewhere. Inspired most of all by Rorouni Kenshin which I just started watching last week.

A couple of weeks ago I started a habit of making facebook covers that show what anime I'm watching at the time, taking different images from the internet and putting them together to make my own personalised cover. I don't really know how to use photoshop effectively yet because I just started so all I'm doing is basically copy and pasteing. I made a rule though that I wouldn't use fanart but I changed that when looking for images of ghost in the shell

I wish I could draw like that, there's four images in here, the face on the right, the body in the middle, the background city and the topless one. I would reference the sources but I can't remember where I got them from. Just type in "motoko kusanagi" to find the first three and type in "Motoko Kusanagi naked" to find the topless one (which isn't censored like I did in here with the gun)......uh I swear I was just looking for a picture to reference the jumping scene from the movie....To be honest I'm not sure if it actually is the major but it's still a cool pic.

Trying to learn more about music because I really want to score my own films, which is one of the reasons why I have "exotic" instruments. By the way Effie what sort of guitar do you play and what sort of music? It was my guitar teacher that got me into trying to learn how to play instruments seriously in the first place so I absolutely love it, brilliant instrument

Recently I started a blog because I figured that a forum is more about discussion rather a full insight into someone's opinions. So my plan is to use this blog to express deeper my experiences of "My journey into otaku culture"...Ok well anyway so far I've talked about why I reckon video games are art and a brief look at why I like anime. I've also talked a bit about visual novels which despite having played them for a couple of months now I seem to be thinking a lot about them recently. Obviously I plan on adding a lot more stuff I don't know what yet I guess we'll have to see. Check it out if you want to it's called Waku Otaku Ninjawhale:

Oh also I'm gonna talk about films that are so bad they're good like the Room as well as MST3K, home movies and stuff like that so it's not all Japan

Decided that I'll eventually start a vlog, don't know when though. Trouble is I'll feel nervous about starting Vlogs, putting yourself up there on screen, pretty scary in my opinion because you don't know what people will think of you. I've set myself a target to do at least one vlog within the next two weeks, like an introductory explaining who I am and what I intend to talk about. I'm guessing planning is the key which I've started doing...well more like plans that are pretty vague but hey at least it's a start
